The thing is that I feel bad for IV when people start screaming and yelling at them. IV is not responsible for passing these legislation. They don't even realize that if there was no IV, July fiasco would have resulted in lot of people not getting their 485 filed. So many people would have so far not been able to use AC21 and change jobs. They are just sitting and posting out their suggestions. IV needs members who can help them in their cause and strengthen the organization. They have no right to yell or scream despite not even contributing a single minute to the cause. I still believe that we better have couple of members who we know and can count to volunteer rather than a blog where people throw fancy suggestions and vent out. That is the reason for me being advocating for paid site. If not paid, then activate membership through state chapters. Have state leadership activate their membership based on their contribution for this blog. At least we know that they are contributing to the cause by money or time. I am seriously disgusted by seeing so many irrelevant postings on this site which has nothing to do with immigration and people spending hours blogging, rather than contributing couple of minutes with their state chapters.

How can a person find out that you are there when you have not written a word after the first post. Now that you have replied, that is good. Everyone knows that you have read the responses.
A kind request. Think about the question I am writing.
What do you think we should be doing at this site? What is the objective of this site? Is everyone being part of that objective? What would be a constructive post to be a part of objective? What effort people have put toward the objective?

if there are more than 200 people then weekend works too, it will get coverage, but otherwise anything in DC must happen beginning of the week. Senators congressmen usually leave town Thursday night. So if the intent is to show tourists or if the intent is to show lawmakers is what we need to decide. If the numbers are high on a weekend, then automatically there will be press coverage. Somebody needs to prepare press statements and so on. It not about convenience more than needs, lets weigh in how many people can we get to participate first, firmly.
I agree weekend we can get max participation . Also keep an eye on weather ( we dont want rain/t-stroms) and parking .

H-1B visa holder is not authorized alien to work for any employer. Employer can not be asked to provide H-1B sponsorship.
Infact H-1B worker has lot of restrictions related to his work. H1-B worker has to work only in his job location and pay range as specified in LCA. Any significant changes in job location, job duties, and/or salary requires LCA and H-1B petition amendment. H-1B worker is out of status when out of job for any reason. EAD holders, OPT are immigrants, who are not permanent resident, but they do not have such restrictions. And, thats why, they are authorized alien to work for any employer. (Hint: SSN card for H-1B holder has line - work with USCIS authorization only whereas GC/EAD holder does not have that line on their SSN card).
Authorized alien include EAD holders, GC holders, OPT, and US citizens. If you don't believe me, feel free to put this question in lawyer's forum and let me know what response you get.
Now, coming back to your quote

Look what we are up against : we have neither the numbers of the illegals nor the lobbying power of the entire agriculture industry (not to speak of the church) behind us. The story of a law-abiding,tax-paying resident trying to remain here just does not make for a glamorous cause for either the media or the politicians. Whatever little attention the media gives us is gobbled up by either the H1-B visa increase lobbyists or someone complaining about not being able to re-unite with his wife/brother etc etc in the US !! And to top it all, the anti-immigrationalists will go out of their way to see us clubbed together with the illegals; even as they shed crocodile tears for legal immigrants affected by amnesty.
In short, none of the "movers and shakers" have a vested interest in us.Thats the hard truth.

Your post is a classic example to show how everybody will not understand the other person the same way.

I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.
