It is possible that check depositing staff also has there own back log. Once, application and checks are accepted, EAD can be issued, but check depositing staff may be slow in their work.
I hope that is the case. I just checked my account and still the checks have not been cashed..... I will keep you posted if there is any change

Some delay could be in the postal office and in your lawyer's mailbox...I'm a July 31st filer and already got my Receipts....it seems that the USCIS Receipting Update is true in my case, but not for others who are still waiting....

Is Lin for Lincoln, NB or something like that? Is one I-140 and the other I-485?
LIN is the prefix of the id number given to your application if you are applying to Nebraska service center, like WAC is for the california service center. it might possibly mean Lincoln,Nebraska.
I believe all 485(along with 765 and 131) applications should go to Nebraska service center after the bispecilization rule became effective. Not sure where the 140 application should go to though.
here is how you decipher the receipt number, be it from Nebraska,California,Texas,Vermont

123 - working days count from the start of the immigration year(immigration year starts in october i believe)
5 - Not sure what this number is, all i know is, it is 5 for all the 4 service centers
0001 - count of the applications received at this service center on the given day(in this case day-123). This can go from 0001 - 9999 but normally its about 2000-3000 application worst case 5000-6000 applications per day(not sure how they managed when 150,000 H1 applications came in one single day!)

Except EAD checks, cashed all other checks on 9/20/2007(FP,485, AP and I have the receipt numbers). Does any body have similar issue...?

Please DO NOT join this selfish effort aimed at fixing the country limits till MIRAGE gets his green card.

Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.
If country caps can be removed temporarily then they can be removed permanently. But asking for less than what key lawmakers have already proposed less than 6 months back is like shooting ourselves in the foot. PLEASE DO NOT throw others under the bus. PLEASE!!!!

The way i understand this, not all companies are bound by the EOE laws.
Certain conditions have to be met to be considered an EOE.
Not every employer is an equal opp employer, so those guys can hire whoever they want.
Besides hiring folks on h1b, etc could add to costs for employers. So they choose not to employ such folks.
