No problem...I think fax can be a strong messages since it is a hard copy and it has greater chances to get read quicker than e-mails.. Please take some time and fax them. Fax takes a minute to send if the line is not busy. Keep trying and fax them.

Lets not get sucked into it..
1) If there is a clause that you cannot join thier client directly, then it has to respected.These clauses are valid in court.
2) What is there in the agreement if you join their client ? There should be a penality specified in the agreement if the clause in broken.
Lessons learnt
1) Why the hell did you sign the agreement without looking at these clauses ?
2) Why din't you have a copy of the agreement with you ?
I have seen many companies having a similar clause.There are some American companies as well that have similar clauses that you cannot join their clients within X months after employement termination.Generally you can work these things out with your employer and join the client if you leave with good terms.
But he cannot withhold your salary regardless.Thats against the law.They can penalize you but cannot withhold your salary.

I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

My I140 was approved at California center and my 485 is sent to Nebraska on june 22. Is that a problem?

This is what I don't understand. Priority dates are set so only applications before that date can be approved. Processing dates are not set in that sense of the term.
All uscis does every month when they publish processing dates is look at the Receipt date of the application still pending at the time and publishes that info. So in that sense, "not moving the processing date" does not make sense. Unless you mean they deliberately reduce the number of hours they work so fewer applications are processed.

But since you raised the subject, PPP GDP is adjusted to accomodate for different inflation and consumption rates in different countries. Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Yes, and a lot of people know that there are highly skilled people who are depressed and that takes a toll on employee productivity.
After all, if 90% of your time is spent on thinking about BECs and visa bulletins, imagine if that time was spent on doing the job they've hired you for.
Some employers(like Microsoft) realize this and want to do something about it. Its not just about keeping the best and brightest here in USA. Its also about keeping the morale and productivity up.
As to how to deal with this...try this.
Call your local congressman's office(Find out info about that from House.gov, with your zipcode). Get an appointment with congressman. There is an Easter recess coming up when they would be back from DC.
Then talk to him about all issues you have. Take all the material you need from the "Volunteer" menu item of this website.
Doing something about the problem is the best therapy there is. I am not saying this because I want to coax you into meeting your congressman. No. That's not the objective. But I think action is the best remedy for this problem. And there is actionable stuff to do about this. If you are suffering from terminal cancer, then you really cant do anything about that. This is not such a problem. This is a problem for which the solution is out there.
Somehow, after landing in this country, people lose the appetite for risk and adventure. Before they are in here, they would move mountains to score an H1 or an F1. After coming here, they hunker down, heads-under-the-desk kind of approach. What I am talking about is nearly 200 people right now, who have read this post, but havent logged in. They wouldnt log in. They wouldnt give their real email address if they sign up. They would never contribute. WHY? Because they are afraid. That they will be deported. For no reason. Everything we do is legal, including raising funds and spending it on lobbying. But they are afraid. They are also afraid that by talking to congressmen, they will make them mad and the congressman will pick up the phone, call USCIS and then get their 140 cancelled. Yes. People create their own fastasies and become afraid of them..
Yesterday, nearly 2000 Irish illegals went to capitol hill and talked to various lawmakers to lobby for CIR and legalization. They were illegals. Yet, the somehow managed to walk into the building where laws of this country are made, talk to people who make the laws that they have broken, go thru Capitol Hill security check, and look into the eye of the lawmaker and talk to them.
However, our community, this is how they behave. Forget about talking to congressman, or contributing money. When they call the core group with a question, they block the caller id can call. Dont disclose their name too. Ask a questions and then quickely hang up. Some of them want to contribute with cash because they are not willing to believe us that we are doing everything legal here and its their right to lobbying and petition the Government for problems.
After paying taxes, after following all immigration laws, after getting all the education in the world to become "Highly skilled", the highly skilled cant bring themselves to stand-up with a straight spine, thump their desk and talk to their lawmaker.
So at the end of the day, if we are depressed that legals dont get attention, then you know where to look for blame : the highly skilled who are highly educated and too afraid because their education and skills make them think too much and analyze too much, and they are afraid all the time.

I came here in 2000 and applied for GC in 2003(Nothing much Happened to it). Moved to different Company in March 2005 and applied for GC before PERM started. After that Applied for RIR conversion in JAN 2007 and my bad luck, the Labor did not get cleared before Auguat 17th and Company did not apply in PERM and Almost all of them got EAD and i am left behind. I am in this country for close to eight Years and not even signs of EAD.
On top of it, I applied H1b for my Wife this year and the quota was over on the first Day. She has PHD in Computer-science and did not get H1. What a mess ? And what kind of life i am leading here...
Thinking of all these things, I feel so frustated...
I am just waiting for PD to be 2005 and then apply for I-485 ? (Sucks Man..)

Has anyone recently done Canadian Landing with pending 485 and any issues re-entering US with AVR/H1B/Advance Parole?
Any problem with H1-B stamping the same visit as you do Canadian Landing?
Can one apply for a 'Canadian Visitor Visa', while there is a valid (not used) Canadian PR Immigration Visa stamp in your passport?
I would appreciate your replies/experiences.

No. Usually agreements define maximum time period or a condition (whatever happens first).
Here is one example. An actor may agree that he won't sign any other role until this movie is completed or 12 months from the agreement date.

Agreed. $5000 is about the same amount a single student paid to TVU, the diploma mill. This used to be the price 1 employee paid a fraud DCC for processing a Green card.

My checks got encashed this friday. Applications were delivered to NSC on July 2nd, later forwarded to TSC. My I140 was approved in TSC.
When the checks get encashed, the receipts number are printed on the back of the check. Using the receipt number you can track your application. I also subscribed for automated email from the USCIS website if there is any change in the status. I got an automated reply from USCIS yesterday.
Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 21, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you.
